7 - San Samuele
pag.  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

The ferry in "Calle del Traghetto".

The ferry allows to go from the area west of the sestiere of S. Mark to the east area of Dorsoduro and from here directly to the route Accademia- Piazzale Roma,in the heart ofthe sestiere. And vice versa, of course. This is the ferry that links 2 important cultural sites: Palazzo Grassi and Ca' Rezzonico, the first site of important exhibitions and the other of the Museum of the Venetian seventeen century. From the side of Dorsoduro, after the long "Calle del Traghetto", one reaches Campo S. Barnaba, on the quoted route. From here one can go to the very lively Campo S. Margherita, or, in the opposite direction,go to the long Fondamenta delle Zattere, traditional walk of the Venetians.

The ferry at S.Samuele.

Getting off at S.Samuele, on the contrary, one is in front of the entrance of Palazzo Grassi. Going on the calli that branch off from campo S. Samuele, one arrives easily at the area of Campo S. Stefano, and from here one can go on the route Accademia - Rialto, to the campi S.Angelo and S.Luca.
